Just for PRSSA Members

Professional Programs
Dues-paying members of the student chapters are encouraged to attend the professional chapter programs. All programs are open to students at no charge (not including meals or refreshments). Students who plan to attend a program are asked to register through the chapter web site so that ample seating is available. Registration forms should be completed in full and in the “Notes” section, those attending must indicate “student” status so that the chapter administrator is aware that it is a complimentary reservation. Any student who would like to partake in the meal/refreshments offered at a program must pay the cost of the meal in advance of the program.

Scholarships
Each spring, the professional chapter reviews applications for the May C. Randazzo Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to a junior, senior or graduate student at a Western New York college or university. The student must be pursuing a degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations. Members of the PRSSA chapters are encouraged to apply. Applications are due late winter. A recipient is chosen by May and the award is presented at the chapter’s Excalibur Awards Dinner in June. For more information, reference the PRSSA section of the chapter website.

Additionally, numerous scholarships are available through the national organization and are listed at PRSSA.org under the Benefits of PRSSA section.

Committee Involvement
Student members are also encouraged to become involved in professional chapter committees. If student members feel they have the time to devote to committee work, they may choose to participate on a committee of their choice. Students may contact the committee chair directly, but are asked to inform the board liaison of their participation.

Need Help?
Student members are welcome to contact the professional chapter whenever needed. The chapter leadership is happy to help.
